About Me
Amer Alkhatib (b. 1982) is a visual artist based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Having immigrated to Canada in his teens, he developed a sensitivity to cultural symbols and their power to tell stories that transcend language. A graduate of Concordia University in Montréal, he built a career in graphic design—a practice that continues to inform his art today.
His work reflects a designer’s eye for colour, typography, and composition, but its heart lies in the everyday objects he paints. By documenting familiar yet overlooked artifacts, Amer invites viewers to pause and consider the personal and collective stories they carry.
